Does anybody know the best price for EN-EL1 batteries? I have a 995 and I am going to China in a few weeks. I will need several spares. A year ago when I first had the camera, the batteries were going for ~$30. Now they are more like $40.

Thanks,

Shii

I've seen prices in the last two weeks from $20 all the way to $69 or so. I'm not a fan of that battery, so I'll be adding the grip to my 5700. You might want to consider a small external power source...

Bruno,

Where did you see it for $20? For my 995, the EN-EL1 is okay. It lasts good part of a day and usually recharges in 90 minutes. For my trip to China, I might have to carry 2 spares everyday.

Thanks,

Shii

I've seen a really lot of choice from under $20 to thirty something in ebay, from standard 650mAh, 700mAh to 750mAh by typing "enel1" or "en-el1".
Avoid those price that too high or too cheap.
Also a lot of charger. adaptor.

Try http://www.provantage.com go to camera accessories.
MH-51 Battery Charger & Re-Chargeable Battery Kit # 9897 $39.69
EN-EL1 Rechargeable Battery $29.61

I have two EN-EL1 and am about to buy a third for a trip to Europe. Decided to get the charger/battery combo. Having batteries with a non working charger isn't good, so the second charger seems to make sence.

I bought three of the Power-2000 for a recent vacation and they work great.

Are you going where there is no electricity? If there is, you probably can get a converter plug and recharge your batteries if it's 120 or 240 volts. All you'd need is a plug to use in their electrical outlets. I'm getting one for Europe - about $2. At Radio Shack you can buy a set for worldwide use for $9.95. But I'm not sure what China has for power. Someone else here know?
