I have a D60 and have three main lenses: Sigma 15-30, Canon 28-135 IS, and Canon 75-300 IS. My question is: can the Billingham Hadley (I like the look of the "pro" model) hold the d60 body (no grip) with any of these lense attached and have enough room to carry the other two (plus some filters, batteries, etc). From the dimensions on the website it looks like the Hadley is only 2.75 inches deep! which would be too narrow to put the D60 in with one of my lenses attached (in the lens down position). The Packington model is deeper, but doesn't look as nice. Anyone own one of these bags and use it hold this type of gear?

I have the Billingham Photo Hadley (I've had it for about 8 years). My new D60 with the 28-80 USM fits. There is room for another lens but two more may not fit.

Matt,

I received the Sigma 15-30 less than a week ago, so I haven't been able to critically test it yet. Casual use so far shows good contrast and very sharp. It is, however, quite heavy and big. With the 82mm wide front and lens cap on it takes up a lot of real estate in the camera bag. Which is why I need a new bag!

I await the reports of whether a D60 with this type of lens attached will fit, lens down, in the Billingham photo hadley. I suspect the D60 body is too wide/tall to fit in the hadley.

Anyone preferential to the Billingham Packington or the Domke F3x or F4AF?

-Bill
W,

How is that Sigma 15-30? I've been thinking about it for a while
but haven't heard. Of course I'd love to get the Canon equivalent,
but Cha-ching!

OK, just tried my D60 with 28-135 (hood attached), in my Hadley (normally used for other gear), and it works just fine, with the camera lens down in the center compartment. You would get two more lenses into the side compartments if they aren´t too fat. If you move the partitions to have just two comparments, you´d probably get even a 16-35 down in the second one (not sure about the lens shade; don´t own the 16-35). My second lens is the 50/1.4, and that fills just the bottom part of one compartment. Batteries for the D60 are TINY: you´ll get several into one front pocket, and filters and CF cards into the second one.

In fact, after trying, I might well reassign my Hadley for the D60, which now occupies a Domke FX3.

Thanks Bill,

Let me know how your experience with it pans out.

Isn't hunting for the right bag a pain? With the grip on the D60, I'm off later today to find a medium sized bag that fits. I've got a big tamrac bag that holds the 60 +4-5 lenses, flash, filters, etc., but that is one heavy mother. Need to find a medium sized bag that works (that also doesn't scream "expensive camera inside")

Received this bag today... and the first impression is, it is very handsome looking bag, but in no way does it shout expensive camera inside..

Right, back to iseisebb question... well no not really. I can fit the D60 w/out grip, 70-200IS, 50mm and the 550ex flash. iseisebb i dont think the hardly pro will meet your requirements, you can certainly carry a lot of stuffs in this little bag, but i dont think it can carry the D60 with grip and lens attached..it simply isnt wide enough..its either with grip and no lens or with lens and no grip setup. . After playing around with different patition configurations, I did manage to store the D60 and 70-200 attached, but not with the grip, as well as the 50 and the flash.

So if you are looking for a compact bag that can carry 2/3 lens, and the odd accessories to go on holiday - BWT this is my primary reason - this is definitely a great bag to have.

I just bought a Billingham Packington. It fits a D60 and the following four lenses: 50 1.8, 28-135IS, 75-300IS and Sigma 15-30; with one of the lenses attached to the body (without grip). It is similar to the Hadley in shape but a little bigger in all directions. There is even room for a small laptop, but it is getting a bit heavy and tight (good for carrrying on a plane though). So far I am very happy with it.
