Hi Folks,

Has anybody else come across this :

Using the mft 14-42mm lens, if i take pictures between 14 and 41mm, the focal length is correctly displayed when i review the pictures.

However, when i take a pic at 42mm and review the shot on the camera, the focal length becomes 16682mm.

?? !!

I've checked the contacts, reset the camera, this doesn't change : at 42mm the exif says 16682mm.

Is your sample doing the same ??

Not that it bothers me a lot, but if you could check and report here, i'd be glad to know what your findings are...

Cheers,

Marc

I don't have an E-P1 but I've seen this problem reported elsewhere so not a fault specific to your camera I believe.

I do not think I have this problem, but it sounds like you majority lucked out: getting this phenomenal telephoto lens for just ~$800! It Hubbell telescope is only 56700mm :)

This happens with some Canon lenses giving the EXIF with a few thousand extra millimeters on it. Just ignore it.

Same issue here, easy firmware fix I guess but what about the photos already taken?

Google and download an "EXIF Editor" - there are a few available, but sounds like you probably want one which will batch process a single parameter. I'm not familiar with them all, sorry.

Yes, I've reported it already Marc. In fact, I need to check for the latest firmware update via Studio - the last time I tried this, the PC wouldn't recognise the E-P1 via the USB - could someone else please check that it's possible to update the E-P1 firmware?

Kind Regards

Brian

E-P1 still at firmware revision 1.0... I expect the EXIF bug will get fixed at rev 1.1
I just hope they would give the half press on shutter the same effect on manual lenses as they do on ZD, ie canceling AF assist magnification...
That would be service.
