I've posted this in Digital Pro Talk, until I realised there actually is a MAC forum. I hope it is ok to cross post. If not, moderator, please remove this.

I am planning to buy a macbook pro and am looking for a monitor to go along with it. All the info on the forum dates back to old models and I just want to make sure I get this right. Your help would be greatly appreciated:

My research seems to indicate that the new 24" apple cinema display are really not suitable for serious photography work.

I also had looked into the Dell 2408 and it seems equally not up to the task (though I like the price tag)

The NEC2409 is what looks best to date, but it's beyong my price range. I can live with the price of the ACD 24", and am also willing to go for a smaller size screen (20 or 22"), do you have any suggestions?

Cheers,
Y.

If you are going Pro in Photography and are really serious, do yourself a favour and spend the extra $1000 and get the ACD 30 inch. I drive this off a 17 inch MBP and it works flawlessly. Best money I ever spent on a monitor...
