Hi there,

I'm happy owner of Canon G2.

Usually I use microdrive and external reader/writer to download my shots on my personal computer.

Last month I have installed Photoshop 7 and reinstalled ICC profiled download from http://www.popphoto.com/HowTo/ArticleDisplay.asp?ArticleID=174 .

I have noticed that my shots have sRGB profile and not Adobe RGB, so the icc doesn't work!
I remember that with my old photoshop version (6.01) I have not problem at all.

What should it be?

I have opened sample G2 shot (takes from Zoombrowser with photoshop, and all images are opened with an Adobe RGB imbedded color profile, not with sRGB like my shots!

Anyone could help me?
Tanx a lot, Maurizio Cassano.

I have discovered that my photos has the sRGB imbedded profile, while with Photoshop 6 my shots has not any imbedded profile!

How can I use ICC with Photoshop 7?

Tanx a lot, Maurizio.

Maurizo,

I am new to color management. I am using a notebook LCD with no calibration hardware. However, I have tuned Adobe Gamma from the Control Panel. At the moment I am trying to standardise a set of software; Nikon Editor, Adobe Elements and Ulead Impact 4.0.

I am using sRGB in Nikon Editor, and "no color management" in Elements. Ulead has no profile option but produces the most accurate colors. With this combination, the images look fairly similar.

What is your configuration? What is the problem?

Hi Jim,

tanx for your reply!

I have an LG 19" CRT monitor, but my problem does not my hardware configuration.

I have readed on the web that Photoshop 7 read a particular camera files with an imbededd color profile, such as sRGB.

I use some ICC profiles to optimize my shots for web and for printing service, but ICC profiles works only if the file I want open has not an imbedded color profile or if it has only Adobe RGB color profile.

So, now I have Photoshop 7 and I can't use my custom ICC profile.

Sorry for my bad english... :(

Maurizio.
