Jessops webshop: your experience?

Hi everyone

Maybe this isn't the most appropriate forum to ask this, but several of you have ordered stuff from Jessops, right?

I e-mailed these people several times before I ordered and afterwards, to ask for an approximate delivery date. It's been three weeks since my first e-mail and I haven't had any response so far.

In addition, their web site says my order was "fully despatched" last Monday 12 August. Haven't received anything yet. I got stuff from several other countries within 2-4 working days - how far can the UK be from Belgium? It's been 7 working days already.

Should I get worried now? Have any of you had similar experiences?

Hi Pieter,
I have no experience of buying online from Jessop's,

but I have just searched for Raynox Macro Lens. Jessop's are quoting 9 weeks delivery! Not very encouraging is it?

Hi Pieter,

I ordered a Raynox 1.8x lens and they delivered in 4 days to Holland. Not bad I think but I knew the lens was in stock. So maybe that's the problem...

I've used them in the past and they have been OK - but that was within the UK.
I suggest you give them a ring and find out what's happening.

Nope! Their site said everything was in stock. Plus they can't really "fully despatch" items they don't have yet, can they?

I got in touch with someone who works at Jessops, so I should find out soon enough what's going on.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Belgian postal service has something to do with it again. That's what you get with monopolies: high prices for lousy service.

You're right: 4 days is pretty good. That's how long it took my camera to get from Holland to my home.
