Everyone who was hankering after a new Micro Four Thirds forum got their wish. It sets a precedence because we've never created a non-brand-specific forum which is dedicated to gear talk. Because of this we've also decided (for now) not to move any existing threads into this forum, but if you have an opinion let it be heard now.

You should reply to this thread by changing the SUBJECT LINE, we would also like to know which camp you are from (Olympus / Panasonic). If you think we should move threads say 'Yes - ' followed by your brand, example:
  • Yes - Panasonic
  • Yes - Olympus
  • No - Panasonic
  • No - Olympus

I personally think there should be a forum for Panasonic 4/3 and micro 4/3 inclusive and another for Olympus 4/3 and micro 4/3 inclusive. There is much overlap between the formats. Either that or make the Olympus DSLR forum a 4/3 forum so that the Panasonic DSLRs are not left out. As it is now they are lumped in with the regular Panasonic forum where they go lost in the barrage of LX3 & TZ7 posts, these folks aren't really interested in a 4/3 DSLR.

Try moving threads to get it started, and then maybe for a while, but then stop moving them unless you get a lot of complaints. M43 users will have reasons to post in the other forums at that point, and should be allowed to do so.

Please move existing threads as possible. I see this as a positive, rather than negative move. Many are just annoyed that the E-P1 has taken over so much discussion. I'm merely looking for a single place for µ4/3 discussion as I ponder my move into the format.

Thanks, Phil.

Though most of us will probably still be monitoring the Olympus SLR forum for lens chatter, as it is the de facto 4/3 forum.
