thanks, the e-p1 looks great with the voigtlander nokton 35mm f1.4 (very small), which would definately be one of the first lenses i'd consider getting for it (assuming someone doesn't come out with an autofocus f1.4 of similar size before i buy the camera.
The Nokon 35mm f1.4 looks so right mounted on the E-P1. I guess, at 70mm, it could function as a portrait lens.

I've also got a Contax 50 f1.4 and that's even better for portraits - you don't need 20 feet between you and the subject :-) Very nice subject isolation, you just need to watch out for some PF on high contrast background areas.
Does anyone know if there are Contax to m4/3 adapters out their or for planned release? The number of Contax lenses to be found in used shops here in Japan has been slowly but steadily increasing since Kyocera left the photo business.

The fascinating thing there is that they are now showing Voigtlander lenses on there.

I wonder if there is anything more to this than a marketing move by Cosina? No one else's 'adapted' lenses are shown...

Cosina makes the Epson branded digital rangefinders which are stuck in a nowhere land due to there price and low specs (the new model, released about 2 months ago, is still only 6MP).

Their Voigtlander, Zeiss, and Rollei branded range finders are film only.

It would be VERY interesting if Cosina threw their hat in the digital ring by going 4/3's. And, it wouldn't be the first time Cosina linked up with Olympus. They manufactured the OM-2000.

Thanks for making me fantasise about a M4/3 Zeiss Ikon!!

One a contax to 43s and a Panny m43s to 43s ( as provided by Brian when we met up for a sneak preview of teh E-P1 )

I'm sure there will be a Contax/Yashica to m43s adapter if there isn't one already,

Nick

My thoughts as well - wouldn't it be something if CV produced some scale focus fast wide 4/3 lenses ( reduced image circle from 35mm and optimized for 4/3 sensor angle of incidence ) - 12 f/2.8 and 14 f/2.

Yes, finally there is an adapter for the Konica Hexanon AR lenses to directly fit m4/3 . It can be found on eBay , searching for:
Konica AR lens to Panasonic G1 GH1 micro 4/3 adapter

They manufactured the OM-2000.
Which is based on the Cosina CT-1. Just like the Canon T60, the Konica TC-X, the Nikon FE10, the Nikon FM10, the Ricoh KR-5, and the Yashica FX-3. Tweak it a bit more to lose the mirror box and substitute a range finder and you have the Rollei 35RF and the current Voigtländer Bessa R series. And many more.

They also make Zeiss' ZF lenses. It would be great if they'd make 4/3 lenses too.

Yes, another manufacturer throwing gear in the ring can only be a good thing. An really, now is the time to get in for someone making lenses - there isn't much out there for µ4/3 yet, so being able to get even some of the range of primes that people on here and elsewhere are looking for is likely to result in reasonable sales.

Do they produce AF lenses or just MF?

Thanks for the heads up. I was actually a tad bit disappointed in how large the OM 50mm looked on the E-P1 with the converter...

Further though on this - how does the likely µ4/3 market for lenses compare with the the current rangefinder market for lenses?
