For all LX3 users out there - ever actually had large prints from your files ?

Just received today 3off 24 x16 (paper size ...images in 16:9, so full width, short height) ... all look fantastic.

But the real killer ? 30" x 20" print of the image below (16:9, same again), which looks absolutely stunning !

If you've not yet bothered to 'print large' from your LX3, I can't recommend it highly enough ...and I reckon you'll be really surprised - EVEN if you're a DSLR owner/user as well.

Who did you use as your printer service? I've been using MPIX.COM, but haven't printed larger than 16 X 20.

Pleased you like it ... although it wasn't HDR at all ... just a single image, and no messy pp - just straightforward SP for the RAW file, contrast/colour fine-tuning, touch of sharpening, that's it.

have you enlarged file to meet print size and dpi before sending to
printer?
No, there's no need if you're using pro labs - they take care of that at their end, with also the option to 'colour correct' or not, according to taste.

Note that labs all print from jpeg files, or tiffs, if you don't mind the upload time, or want to send on CD/DVD. They of course can't do anything with (any) RAW files directly, and need to be converted before upload.

Unfortunately, sometimes, instead of changing cameras to get good pictures, you have to change the photographer.

Wow this pic is stunning.

Did you ever saw on your camera some kind of softness side on your pics taken in wideangle...

Pleased to say I haven't at all ... LX3 is known to have one of the very best lenses in any compact camera, and mine's razor sharp all the way...

This camera is absolutely all that people say it is. I absolutely
love it. It just begs you to use it. But that Vario Summicron, what
can I say.
It IS a stunner, no doubt at all.

Enjoyed reading your blog earlier, especially ref Kodachrome's demise ...I've added some details on http://lx3imaging.wordpress.com that may be of interest, for use with your LX3 files ... All is not lost !!
