Still doubt the S100FS ? Check this out

-I have had an s7000 for several years and love it, but was thinking to "moving up" to

to the s100fs. Are the from the two cameras equal in sharpness or does one seem better? Are they equally good in low light? Any other comments regarding the differences?

Hi,

That looks fine, and your S100FS is clearly capable of fine quality photographs ... I'll bet you're pleased with your new toy, sure you'll be out with it this weekend, making the best of a great camera - enjoy !

Over the last year or so, there's been a huge push on DSLRs as 'essential' - just not the case, and they're not best at everything (and I have a D3) ...

No need ... DPReview and other review sites have been quite clear. If
you desperately need to see this demonstrated, I suppose you could
look at these two images ...
We've seen that bad hair day manequin dragged out by you before.
Not convincing. Just because you say it doesn't make it true. By
the way, the Nikon image is soft (look at the left breast pocket
buttons and compare to the S100fs image buttons).
Gentlemen, may I point out to you that what you are seeing is differences in focusing/DOF? Just take a look at the white balance card, it is tack sharp in S100fs pic, blurred in D5000 pic. Therefore these two can not be used for any comparison and conclusions.
