D7i for portraiture?

Hi peoples!

I'm considering getting the D7i to replace a film camera for some side work I do in portraits. I was hoping some of you might use it for that purpose. If so, could you let me know how well it serves you and any pros and cons.

The folder "a few faces" is just an endless source of inspiration for me. I love to photograph people, more than anything else. I've chosen the D7 originally for its polyvalence, because it is capable of nice portraits as well as beautiful lanscape or simple snapshots.
