Hello

Just got the S100fs today. Was playing around with it - haven't read the manual tho. Was curious about the feel of the mode dial rotation. Rotating clockwise - it clicks into different modes smoothly. However, rotating it counter clockwise - there's more resistance. Am I making any sense? Is this how it is with your camera. I have an S9100 and its dial feels the same clocwise or counter clockwise.
Thanks for any replies.

... Someone else posted something along these lines a while back.

My mode dial seems to have the same feel in either direction. I doubt you have any problem with the dial though.

Thanks for reply. Good to know that's the way its designed.

First thing I noticed was improvement in the menu structure compared to S9100. Also, a dedicated ISO button. It used to be hidden under F (function) button to change ISO settings in the S9100. Overall feel is solid especially the card door which used to be large and flimsy due to the use of CF card. And it would flex and creak because its part of the grip.

Anyway, thanks again for feedback on the Mode dial.

Mine is the same way. The dial rotates smoothly in one direction, but feels a little rougher when rotating in the opposite direction. -Norm

Thanks for confirming that the rotation has some resistance in counter clockwise direction. I think I'm going to try to remember to rotate the dial clockwise to change settings.

Thanks for feedback Peter. Yeah, I feel the grinding of the dial in counter clockwise rotation. When I first felt that, I thought Oops I shouldn't have done that.
