I'm still getting used to my new E620, and all of these were taken with the 70-300 alone, except for the birdsfoot which had a Nikon 5T CU lens attached as well. I've been experimenting with fill-flash for these:
Pink birdsfoot? (Not sure it comes in pink besides yellow)



Iris



Foxgloves



Pink spike



Cosmos

 
No tripod. Just fast shutter speed (although perhaps too large an aperture to get it. Could've used a touch more DOF).
 
We've had a couple of rains in the Hill Country of Texas in the last couple of weeks and some wildflowers have responded. We went out this morning to see what we could find. This little guy I hadn't seen before. E620 with 70-300 lens - my favorite flower lens.

 
I will try. As long as I have access to some good flowers.

Thanks to Pete, Alan, Edward, Michiel and Brad for your very kind comments.

Unfortunately, the lotus bud which showed so much promise was eaten by little creatures, and suffered badly due to the extreme heat (45°C+) we had during its development. I took a piccy after it came out: but sadly it was really a 'fallen Caryatid'.

I took quite a few of the bud as it developed, some of which I have uploaded here:

These were mostly (all?) with my E-1 and f2/50, often lying on my stomach to get the angle ...

Like the reflection in the first one, and the frog and water lily is just a stunner.
