K-7's First Award “Editor’s Choice Awards for 2009” from American Photo Magazine

So... if we sum up the Pentax K20's IQ (which was one of the best),
5,2 fps... a 1080i video at 30 fps with audio with decent IQ, and we
also sum up some new features... who could say it's not the best
camera of the year?
I thought the K7 was limited to 720P (1280x720). No 1080 mode for this camera. Not that I care, since I'm a "vidiot" and don't shoot moving images.

No offense Dennis, but you have bigger problems if a single user on a single camera forum will push you away from the purchase of a camera.
Pardon me, but i really really can't take anything you say serious
anymore, and can't trust your view at all as clearly you are one of
the most biased people i have ever seen posting on these boards.

I really advise everyone else to take Rolands "advice" with a grain
of salt. I am in the market to buy a new dSLR and Rolands posts so
far have pushed me further away from the K-7 than any beta firmware
could ever have.

Have a nice day
Main differeince is that production firmware has even better image
quality, but even the beta samples of cameras are good here! And they
are fully functional (at least the latest beta samples with latest
beta firmware) so there's enough information for the magazine to make
a decision.

You gotta read what i said (even though it was exaggerated): THAN any beta firmware could ever have. Of course he's not gonna be the reason for me to buy the K-7 or not, but it sure is a reason for me to not even come to the Pentax section to look for valid information because i can't differentiate between the PR BS that Roland is spewing out and real facts. It's just majorly annoying for someone who does NOT want to hear the fanboy babbel but rather the objective facts that are actually on the table. He's mixing up facts with his opinions and sometimes makes his opinions facts and for someone trying to decide if a camera is right, that can lead to real trouble.

I personally would really like for him to simply not state his opinions as fact ALL the time.

I did read it all.

If that is the case, then you should clearly be able, as you just said you have, demonstrate knowledge and filter out what is not real or exaggerated. This is a skill that comes useful in any forum....and needs to be used on any forums.

Anyways I'm getting tired of all this talk about technical specs. I want the bloody thing to come out and I want the board to go back to what it used to be about: constant picture posting.

One reaosn I liked the Pentax SLR forums is I think that we (well not me...too bashful ;) ) spend more time posting pictures consistently than other brand forums. However, ever since the beginning of all the K-7 leaks its just stupid hardware talk all day long.

You know what, you're right. I apologize to Roland right here and now. Maybe i'm a little oversensitve, too.

I'm about to spend more money than i ever have on camera equipment ($2.5K) and just don't want to regret it in the end.

There just so many models out there that are good and all have their pros and cons and i have a REALLY hard time deciding between A700, 50D, D90 or K-7 at the moment and I just wanna be sure. Maybe that's why i'm picky about the information i'm getting.

Again, Roland, if you read this, i apologize. I know you're a valuable member here and you have tons of valuable info. Keep rockin'.

It's also 1080i (not 1080p). At least... as far as I've read. Which is something like 1500x1000, and not 1920x1080 which is full 1080, or 1080p.

Actually there is no difference in resolution between 1080i and 1080p. Both are technically 1080 lines horizontal, one is progressive, one interlaced. They still are both 1080 lines though.
