Amazon is selling BCI-6 cartridges for the Canon S900 for the incredibly-low price of $6.99 each. That's pretty good, no?

Sorry, but the prices this morning are showing as $11.99 each. With shipping and sales tax (I live in Washington) that's hardly a bargain. Unless of course you want their "refurbished" carts at $3.95. Whatever those are!

Very good!

Remember to get archival paper, such as Ilford Galarie Classic series, as we've seen so many saying their s900x printouts with Canon PPP fade rather quickly. Anyway, their official quoted no. of years with Canon PPP is only 25 years (indoor, under glass).

In contrast, for the Epson top-end 2200, it's 65+ years with the archival papers (indoor, under glass).

HP new Photosmart series (7000 series, using no. 57 and 58 inks) with new improved Premium Plus Photo Paper (PPPP).

Sorry, didn't complete the sentence. They allow 49 years (indoor, unportected) and 72 years (indoor, under glass).

In any case, it seems like a false alarm, as one poster said the price has gone up again?

I don't think this is the genuine Canon cartridge. Notice the manufacture is "by Amazon" and it says "replacement for Canon".

Only if you can find them! How about a specific url. Best price I
can find at Amazon is $10.61.
funny, if i go to the sight and search i get the $10 price but if i
click this link:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000067OCU/ref=pd_sim_electronics/002-3890083-1563240

i get the $6 price

Easy to explain: The link you have goes to ink carts for Canon, but not made by Canon. They are branded as "Amazon". The genuine Canon ink tanks are the higher price. I've also seen this at other sites where they feature the low priced Amazon brand. In one case I was shipped Amazon ink replacements when the site offered Canon's at a good price.

So, as usual, it's Buyer Beware.

You are correct Charles. Took me a while figure out how they could use the same designation (BCI-6) as Canon but I did it. The compatibles by Amazon are labeled Bci-6 (small ci) OEM's by Canon are labeled BCI-6 (large BCI). Very sneaky!!!

P.S. any relation to Gary Modica in So. Cal.?

Sorry for the bum lead, everyone. Sneaky, indeed!

Does anyone know if there's a real difference in Amazon brand inks from Canon original inks?

Hi David: To good to be true, and probably not. Notice they say "for the canon s900" I doubt if they are OEM.

Not that I know of! But not a common name...
