I know we have noted that the new wr has gone from a 52mm filter thread to a 49 but did you note that the weight has gone from 9.2oz to 11.5oz. I can't imagine that's just seals so I do hope that it is glass.
Maybe they have lifted th performance to that of the Series II and 55-300?
Makes sense to suit the K7.

My mistake its 10.1 ( 11.5 is with hood) still it's an extra ounce, hopefully glass?

Variance is Evil!

That is not too bad. My Zenitar 16 is about 10 oz. On the other hand, they managed to get the weight of the DAL50-200 down to 6 oz using the same optics! They lost the focus clutch and went to a polycarbonate mount. I take this lens with me all the time, unless I want my faster K135/2.5 instead.

I've been following this forum carefully for over 2 1/2 years now, but the "WR" abbreviation has caught me by surprise. What does it mean?

Nothing worse than having a disease, not knowing you have it, then finding out the name for it and you realize everybody has it anyway - so who cares!
You got it!

I'm hoping they have Mike.

Thanks Mark, I hope he's not right but guess he is reliable. It's definitely a different filter thread size 52 to 49.

My LBA is incurable, my doctors (and wife) tell me. I already have the 18-55 and 50-200 ranges covered with good glass and didn't notice the new lenses when I read the K-7 announcement.
