ZS3 Black not shipping untill june 22nd?

I ordered on Amazon two days ago the Black ZS3 and it states I won't be receiving the camera until July?! I called around and apparently this item being just released this month and is under high demand that no stores have it available to ship out or in store. I have never encountered this shopping conundrum before. Any others experiencing this or how were you able to get a hold of one? This is the US version I am assuming.
 
Sorry to hear that. I ordered my black ZS3 from Amazon on the 22nd and it got here yesterday the 28th. That actual sale was from a company called Crutchfield, for what that's worth. Good luck!
 
I ordered from Amazon on 19th, with shipping date (back ordered) noted as 23rd - It shipped on 23rd, & delivered on 27th. In this case, Sold by Amazon.

When looking every day, price fluctuated depending on who was shipping (selling)the camera. I waited for Amazon to be listed as seller in order to get free shipping. I have noticed some colors are listed as... will ship in 1-2 MONTHS...

The good thing is you have one on order, and most likely will ship on time. The next L O N G W A I T will be the 130 minutes for the battery to charge after your new ZS3 arrives.

I ordered the Black camera a couple of days ago, only after my birthday being on the 22nd, thinking it was the only American version. I wanted to make sure I ordered the American model as I know the limits of the European one with video fps/rec. time. I really am not concerned with the color of the bodies they offer though. Perhaps if the features are the same as the newly released black body then I could cancel and order elsewhere. If so 'black' is a very appealing archetype equated with 'quality' I suppose. Crutchfield is out of the black currently.
 
Bought from Compsource - and got a terrific price. Even though the website says it is back ordered and won't be in till some time in June, it arrived yesterday at my door.

Same thing here, ordered on the 19th, shipped on 22nd and delivered on the 27th, sold by Amazon. For me it was pure luck, I went into Amazon website and it was written "item arriving on day xx, order now".

They were selling it for 385,00 + free shipping, but I got the 3 day select option.
 
According to Crutchfield support any reputable American seller will sell only the American item. So, it looks like they have some 'Blue' versions in stock. Problem solved I hope. They also said Amazon does not always pick reputable sellers to ship from. Interesting.
 
It appears to be the American version. Reseller ratings for this company were excellent.

My ZS3 is silver...as is my LX3...not that I prefer silver over any other color. It was the color they had in stock (for both cameras) when I bought them and, in the case of the LX3, black was more expensive. FWIW, black, to me, gives the impression of expensive, high quality. Silver...classy, but understated. Red...basically screams 'look at me!', an attention-getting color. Blue...doesn't really say much to me...cool, maybe?
 
But it was backordered by several months everywhere I looked so I ended up getting black. I'm jealous!
 
Thank you everyone for your replies. They have been very helpful. I have found a couple companies to order through with free shipping! - ;)
 
Crutchfield has great support with long hours! I might get that Blue model from them.
