****Open challenge 35 - Urbanscape/Urban architecture****

Nice image/exposure, was that you I bumped into trying to take a pic of Saint Pat's? :)

I'm not keen on much of modern architecture, which seems to consist of soulless glass towers and numbing blocks of steel and concrete. An example of what I do like: an English village church in the old style, made simply but with character.

Panasonic FZ30, f/4, 1/640, ISO80. Lightly cropped and just a little lightening, contrast and USM added in PP.

I hate the buildings, love the photo. Unusual viewpoint drawing in a huge cityscape. Very well seen and taken.
Here is am square panorama, which is actually part of a 4 piece
series, called North-East-South-West, each of which is 60x60in (about
150x150cm, or aprox 500 mpx).
Here is the south view for this contest:

hi richard,

thx for the comment... indeed, NYC has some buildings that are strange and/ugly, but they are never the less part of our cityscape... the point i am trying to make is the intimacy of a large city... but that doesn't really come across in such a small jpg, you need to see it in original size on the wall (where you can actually see the wedding pictures on the desks in the offices across the street)... but I keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't completely bomb in this challenge, which has so many great entries.
