Just came today from Amazon (for the low, low price of 25 bucks after free shipping, rebates and coupon).

Any tips on installation? Anything I should be aware of? Running Windows XP.

Ron

I would think the safest thing would be to uninstal PSE 1, then install PSE 2 into the same folder.

I've been looking at buying PSE with the Amazon rebate; I'm trying to decide if it really adds anything that I really want to have. It sounds more as if they knocked off a few rough edges than adding major new features...

At that price, it does not take a lot to justify an upgrade. I would have, except that the rebate applies only in US, not Canada.

First timer for me. I was using the Arc Soft that came with my Nikon 4500 and the Dell Image Studio and Microsoft Picture It that came with my new computer and did not particularly like any of them so I went with Adobe.

Sorry about the rebate eh.

Ron

Yeah, but sometimes an upgrade isn't really much of an upgrade. I was trying to figure out if I would notice anything different about it or not. If what I do isn't changed or affected then I might as well keep the money in my pocket...

I have ordered it from Amazon and will be a first time user of PSE. I understand that it has several new features over the PSE1 version. It says that it now has a selection brush for masking and a new feature for e-mailing photos. How long did it take to get your copy with the free shipping? I ordered one yesterday.

I also received my copy of PS Elements 2.0 this afternoon. I have not install it yet but will soon. Running XP , XP Pro with an AMD 1900+ CPU.

I have PSE 1.0 and got the upgrade to PSE 2.0. I run windows XP and installed 2.0 yesterday. I did not delete 1.0 before installing 2.0 I simply inserted the CD and let the installation wizard guide me through. I ended up with a separate shortcut icon on my desktop for 2.0 yellow flower]; the icon for 1.0 [eye] and the program itself were not affected by the 2.0 installation.

I got the Amazon rebate deal with end cost at $29 with free shipping. I guess I miissed our on the coupon. So far, I haven't had time to explore differences in features. I believe one touted upgrade is the ability to print multiple images in multiple sizes on a single page. That by itself would be worth most of my $29 cost.

The fine print on the Adobe rebate coupon at the Amazon site states
that the coupon must be an original-no copies. So I wonder if Adobe
is going to honor printed copies.
Allan:

You should have gotten a $30.00 pre-printed rebate certificate for the Adobe rebate in the box with PSE2. That is the original you send to Adobe. The other $40.00 rebate is from Amazon and you need to print that from the Amazon site. Go to the page for PSE2 and you can print it from there.

Now if I could only figure out how to use the darn thing!

Ron

Can you please tell me how you got the software for $25. I saw it on Amazon for $59

Thanks

Lloyd

Gary,

I've had it for a couple of days and your right. The browser is much better, but not much else is there. I'm glad I only paid $25 dollars because that's about what it's worth. (I love Elements - it's just the upgrade I'm griping about).

Lloyd,

Amazon has a $40 rebate and Adobe has a $30 rebate which get's you down to $29. If you have an additional Amazon rebate (some of us did) you can get the extra $5 off.
