I recently purchased an FT1 and am quite pleased with it.

I bought the camera unsure of how the quality of the video mode would be. For those that might be considering the FT1, here is a link to a clip. Some camera shake due to a first time user.

The clip is in AVCHD, PAL. The youtube clip is close in quality to the actual file, but a little jerkier than from my hard drive.

Thanks to share,

I'm not so interesed in video, but well in pics from FT1, can you share some? ( if possible at full res)
thanks a lot.

Thanks for posting, quality looks good but when zooming the sounds fade out ??

The sound overall is in my opinion 'a bit crisper an clearer' the the tz7, or is it just me :-)

Hope you had a good dinner time.... :-)

thanks for the link,

I think that flickr permit originals files ... but never used it...

I don't know other gratis sites... but yet at this size, we can see how well it will result in medium print.... and on 17" - 22" screen sizes, it will give us more than a feeling about this new litle cam....

I don't see how anyone can make a statement about the audio quality compared to the TZ7 without an EXACT side by side test.

Sadly, all the videos recorded with the PAL versions of FT1/TS1/TF7/ZS3 do look choppy in Youtube if uploaded RAW. It seems, though, that if you re-encode them before uploading, they look smoother, but nothing compared to how great the videos recorded with the NTSC versions look.

Actually, I could compare both cameras tomorrow as I have the TZ7.
The FT1 is my wife's camera.

Today I did a rough comparison of the TZ7 and the FT1 movie modes - same scene. Both in AVCHD (PAL) and Intelligent Auto modes.

It was raining and I was getting dripped upon, so ended up panning too fast -jerky motion. On reflection I could have taken my time with the FT1 (TS1) as it is waterproof. Not used to this feature.

Anyway, the videos give a rough idea of how wide 25mm vs 28mm is and how far 300mm goes. Also the zoom is faster on the FT1, which makes me wonder if that is why it loses focus a bit.
