Paris in my eyes

Awesome images... how long were you there? It is a great city and you did a great job capturing the feel of it...

Good eye :-)

Most of those places have been done thousand times but you manage to get a feeling through your pictures... Very well done (I live there I shoud know :-) )!

The photos are just wonderful! I love it!
I was there last year too and your photos brought back lots of memories.
I agree with you on how beautiful the city is.
Thank you so much for sharing them!!

Hi Margouillat,

I was in Paris for 2 weeks in 2004. This year, my wife and I with a friend will return to Paris for 10+ days. We will take one day to see the Versailles. Since my interest is in photography, can you recommend some eating places around Paris that is also a feast for the eyes?

During the 2004 visit, we were most impressed (sight and food) by the Le Train Bleu http://www.le-train-bleu.com/ and the restaurant inside Musee D'Orsay. There is a restaurant supposed to be well known by Parisian with better food and lower price than, for example Le Grand Colbert. Could you share the name?

In 2004, most reasonable price cameras are low ISO. This time, I am back armed with D700 and 50 1.4.

I'd only go to the Grand Colbert for photos. The food isn't bad but it's certainly not where it should be, not by anybodies standards. I've eaten there and I would never go back for the food.

Hi Parisphoto,

Tell me please, the name of the well known restaurant supposed to be well known by Parisian with better food and price. You have mentioned it once.

Comment for the past 5 years - Hard to believe the advancement of digital photography for the past years. In 2004, I was using a P&S inside Notre Dame with reasonable result (1/10 sec ISO 400 8X10). Now, for the same lighting condition I can use ISO 12,800, 1/100 sec at 2.8 of F4.

There is currently a Chinese soap playing in Hong Kong with part of the taping (filming) done in Paris. One of the scene is a cafe nearly right at the Arc de Triomphe; another at the Basillique du Sacre Coeur. Both location I missed on the 2004 visit (Arc de Triomphe in renovation) and i did not made it to Montmartre. I wanted to make sure I will not missed it this time around.

I need a walk around lens for the D700. Does any one out there have a suggestion, or have a Nikkor 28-200 for sale?
