someone local to me has the lenses for sale for a combined 350... is this a GOOD deal? an ok deal? what you would expect to pay? or is it not even worth it?

sorry to ask here, i'm just trying to figure things out.

my other option is to just get a single prime like the 85mm 1.8 and be done with lenses for a while.

i should add: i'm looking to supplement my kit lens and sigma 18-125 OS lens with something a bit faster... i'm considering the 85 1.8 i mentioned but seeing how i'm always on a budget i would settle for a 2.8 if the price was right and the lens was good...

i'm also really interested in the canon 135 soft focus lens and will likely go that route regardless, but i figured asking the original question couldnt hurt if there was some resellability for one of the two lenses (and keep the other of course)

It all depends on what you intend to shoot.

I have the Tamron 28-300 VC and it is a good lens - quite sharp. Sample photos shared by some photographer can be viewed at:

The Sigmas 18-125 OS is also a very nice walk-around lens - my walk-around lens after trying out a couple of other options like a 17-70 & 18-50.

The Tamron stays in the dry box unless I expect to be taking photos of subjects a bit distant from me - my kids performing onstage.

i was considering teh 28-300 for outdoor sports and possibly SOME nature but not a lot...

i was thinking the sigma would come in handy for portraits... i thought if i could kill two birds with one 300 dollar stone instead of shelling out 400ish alone on the 85mm 1.8 i'd be all set for quite a while.

i think i read it was a bit slower then an HSM... but is it comperable to my current sigma focus? because if it is i am fine with that.
