Well, have no fear. The M8 can shoot concerts! I took my M8 and a D90 I am testing out to the show. Seal was ultra kind to me and set me up with a VIP pass giving me free roam throughout the entire show. He is the nicest, coolest, most down to earth guy. Amazing. Anyway, here is one of the MANY shots that I really liked but am posting one now as its LATE and will post more tomorrow evening.

I gotta get some sleep!

Thanks for looking.

M8, 50 lux at 1.4 wide open.

Wow Steve, fantastic pictures you got. When you have had some rest perhaps you could share any problems you had, especially focussing the Lux wide open on a moving subject!

Look forward to seeing the rest.

Excellent work so far Steve. I guess Jim was right - good lighting is the key.

From these shots it seems the M8 can handle concerts no problem, and perhaps among other factors, that is due to the lack of mirror vibration in a rangefinder system. Did you fing the f2.8 the limiting factor in your decision to convert the Summarit shot to BW? I notice noise in that shot that the 'lux shot doesn't have.

I'd also be interested in seeing some shots from the Nikon kit as well for comparison.

Thanks for sharing....

Please post more..

These look great. Obviously the stage lighting was good and using the 50 Lux also gives you an advantage.. in the venues I have been shooting the lighting is nowhere near as good as what you experienced.

It always comes down to the light and how fast your lens is.

Good stuff, congrats!

The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear used to capture it.

I am so jealous! Can't wait to see more. Next time see if he will loan you his Noct. Great job, Steve. Your website is starting to payoff. Soon Ann Curry will be asking you for advice and taking you to Darfur with her. Keep up the good work. Kevin
