Beautiful area. I like all three, but I really like the photo of the village tucked into the valley. I am heading to the lake district in May, so I find your photos particularily interesting.

Did you get to the top?
From that direction it's a bit hairy over Striding edge when the wind blows.

Now live in Florida but miss that countryside!
I used to live is Stokesley North Yorkshire and did the coast to coast, not all in one go but in many 12 to 15 mile hikes. Bought back great memories!
Still, on the plus side - no more winter!

No we got as far a the Tarn.
Then the snow, wind and cloud started coming down alot of people were turning back so it was best we didn't risk it, shame really as i wanted some shots from the top.
We plan going again in May, when hopefully the Weather will be abit better.
As from being from Wigan!! we are use to getting the insults

I was at school in Kirkby Lonsdale and know the Lakes moderately well. Love it there. I shall be staying at High Stott Park on Lake Windermere in May for what I hope will be a week of fell walking and photography.
Can't wait.

My favourite month in the Lakes!
All the new foliage and blossom and the sky seems to be a different blue to other times of the year(If you can see it)
I've seen a few sunrises from the top of Helvelyn and Skiddaw as well, magical when the weather is right.
I blame the clogs!As from being from Wigan!! we are use to getting the insults
