Nikon says 1 or 2 bad pixels out of 100K is normal and they won't replace it. Should I take a chance and send it back to dealer for a replacement only to get another one with the same problem? It is just on the screen and not on my prints.

I have a whole vertical line of pixels out. My dealer is replacing mine, when more come in. Hopefully the new one will have a perfect CCD like this one, or I might just keep it and let Nikon repair it later.

JD,

I just took a chance and ordered my replacement for a stuck pixel on the CCD. For what it's worth (a sample of 1!) I'll let you know how it goes.

How many of you have a bright green pixel on your LCD? It looks as though it is just the screen because the pics look good on the computer and the printouts are fine.

JD,

I just got my 5700 from CDW (replacing the earlier one I had gotten with a real stuck pixel). It also has a bad pixel on the LCD. It shows as a red dot on the far right side. However, there are no bad pixels on the CCD where it really counts. (A slightly hot pixel shows at 2 seconds.. nothing at all at any slower speed, which I consider about as good as it gets).

I'm keeping this one. It's the picture that counts. Personally, I mainly use the EVF and that little flaw doesn't bother me at all.

Tom,

I decided to keep mine also. I ran the dead pixel test all the way up to 8 seconds and nothing showed up as hot or bad.

Bad Pixel, Shmixel ?? My entire LCD panel is bad (blooming light area, after short use, can't use LCD, which is large part of why I buy thiis camera. Emailed Nikon, they say will reply in 2 days (canned answer) 5 days ago, needless to say I am very very unhappy with this. Will Air Express it Monday because I can't do it sooner. Really didn't expect otherr than instr. to send it in, but ignoring me is salt in the wound.
