Hey mate.

I remember that duck. From memory she rarely stopped for long :) I like the shot by the way. Small DOF works well with the flower.

Hope all is going well

Changing light gives me the possibility of seeing the world from a new perspective.

For me photography is a tool for capturing these insights, for reflection and sharing.

....she looks just about ready for the plum sauce ;->

The flower makes the portrait special. Two questions: Did you put the flower there? And did she eat it? ;)

I agree somehow the flower adds interest, colour and dimension to the composition Lance - nice shot.

I was wondering about Jemima just the other day.

Seems she has grown somewhat since your first shots!

I did wonder, in a dastardly moment, whether you had eaten her! ];-)

'Photography is not like painting,' Cartier-Bresson told the Washington Post in 1957. 'There is a creative fraction of a second when you are taking a picture. Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera. That is the moment the photographer is creative,'

I agree about the flower--also, I would LOVE to have a pair of ducks
running around our back yard--I was recently reading that they are
better than chickens for keeping the slug and bad bug population down
in the yard and garden and that they lay more often than chickens do
and are not as loud and flighty. Cindy
Thank you, Cindy.

I can recommend having a duck or two, but I think the males can be a bit aggressive to the females and also to people, sometimes.

We have no slugs or snails anywhere! In fact, we were looking for snails to feed her as we need to give her antibiotics for a swollen toe and the only way to get the tablet into her is hide it inside a snail but we can't find any!

Our duck does not fly, but she can quack quite loudly. You need to keep them company to keep the quiet. The Muskovy ducks do not make as much noise but they are not as pretty as our duck, which is a Pekin.

You will need a pond with a filter or let them go in your pool(if you have one). We have a pool and our duck likes to swim in it, but does deficate in it. Luckily we have an automatic vacuum that takes care of most of it.
