Just got my LX3 in NZ. When I transfer my pics from camera to my computer, it doesn't seem to have the Raw pics I took. Any simple explanation for what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks, Greg

It often depends on what transfer method or program that you use. Some programs only seem to know about jpegs and various movie files and may ignore what they think are spurious files because of the unfamiliar extension, particularly the unfamiliar extensions of newer camera RAW files.

Use something simple like Windows Explorer (Ctrl + e) to get them all across, or use FastStone Viewer program which is free and reliable. All Windows talk of course, no Mac ability at my place.

Then again they may be there in your computer and your edit program ignores the RAW files because it hasn't been updated to know about them yet.

Questions are, how do you do the transfer and what program are you trying to use to convert the RAW files?

Just got mine also. Couple things that at first weren't clear: on iA there are no RAWs, on P it has to be set to record RAW+jpeg, and on the C1 (etc.) custom settings, nothing you set is saved unless going into the SETUP tab then CUST. SET MEM. and picking C1, etc.

They've tried to keep tabs and options the same as much as possible but I'm finding a lot of things not accessible depending what mode I'm in - involves a lot of playing around. Wish outa 1000s of specialists these companies have that a few would be real UI people.

Yep, the number of exceptions in various situations is quite confusing. The manual just gives a muddled list that may make sense to someone like the guy who designed it, but I see it as all non-intuitive and open to lots of beginner frustration.

We all grew up on old film cameras that went 'click' and you got a result, now you need an 8 year old games wizard handy to sort out camera settings.

Problem now solved. Thanks everyone . . . I'm too embarrassed to say I was using an older version of PhotofunStudio, and when I downloaded a new version, it worked perfectly. Thanks, Greg

Good thing that was sorted out. Does that software do the lens corrections for LX3? The supplied Silkypix is a weird to get used to but good RAW converter and does the corrections properly.
