Hot, Dead, Stuck Pixel Mapping Firmware funciton request to NIKON.

-Check your mail, sorry for the delay I was out doing the weekly food
shop.

Regards.

Brian.
Thx man!:) I'm gonna see if i can find such a 6pin fireware-cable now. So far, I've never had the first D1 or the current D1H connected to the computer as i've done the transfers with an external card-reader.

No cable followed when I bought it used, so thats why. I'll return to this thread after having tried out.

It didn't take me long to find a 6pin firewire-cable. But worse is, i must buy a ac-adapter, according to the manual, to use the camera in pc-mode. What a joke, it shouldnt be necessarily.

I dont even know if the Q50 works with firewire, or just USB.

Why Nikon and almost everyone else haven't already been doing this for years just boggles the mind. They could offer both auto ID and user definable pixels. The procedure used at the factory could just be re-coded from software to firmware. Most of the effort would be in adding a new page and parameters to the menus.
