nice shots. my partner and i love new york, coming over for visit no 3 in early sep. 1st time it was freezing, last june there was a freak 100c heatwave so hopefully next time we'll have nice comfortable warm weather. have added a d300 since i last went so that will coming with me this time. a pity the days of getting $2/£1S are over, no more big savings buying lenses in b&h (got nikkor dx fisheye in there -fantastic lens. that will be coming back with me in sep)

is the wolman rink the one bryant park? we stayed at b/park hotel last time & really liked it,

Once again, some wonderful shots of The City, Dez! I especially like the strong contrast between the pastoral scene of skaters at the Wollman and the cityscape behind.

Your passion with NYC comes through in your photographs.

Thanks Dave. That ice rink is in Central Park. In September it may not be an ice rink but a small amusement park for kids.

Have fun on your trip ;)

I really enjoy the unusual objects you have to shoot because they give me a flavor for your city. You have so much more from which to choose. One of these times I'm going to visit and try to take in some of the sites you have popularized. Great job.

Dez:

You have really got me hooked on NYC, I hope to come to the "big apple" someday and enjoy the sites, people, I have a friend at church who is from NYC, and she let me borrow a book on history, of New York or New Amsterdam, reading about it prior to the revolution, is fasanating.
It was first published in 1953, but great reading, keep posting pics, I love'em.

Hi dez
first, who is that guy that keeps trashing your photos
I know after I saw your last round of shots I went into the
city last sunday in the flat iron district and took shots mostly
in black and white for competition and they were of the flat
Iron building where my mother worked for 25 years
you give a good sense of whats to see in our great city

Hi Dez
I believe you right about that because I think you would get the proper
black and whites from post processing. I have someone that can handle that
for me. B& W's out of the camera tend to look more gray and B & W
thanks for the advice
