Well, just like everyone else says, the Sears deal really works!

Here's what I did -

1. Went to http://www.pricescan.com and searched dsc-f707.
2. Selected New from Non-US Distributers
3. Went to the websites of the three lowest priced companies.

4. Found the deal, added it to my shopping cart and printed the shopping cart out. (they will only match shipping included) (the first day I looked at pricescan all of the companies did not have links, the next day, they all had links?) ($549 + Shipping)

5. Called and found a Sears that still had the f707. (Most do not carry them anymore)

6. Went to the store, asked for the camera, gave them the printouts and asked them to price match.

7. They had to talk to the manager, who had to call corporate but they were able to match one of the three companies and gave it to me for $549 + shipping.

++++ BEWARE: I was told that the policy is changing on Aug. 4 and they will no longer match internet pricing ++++

You digitaly manipulated that receipt. You wouldn't have gotten away with it if you used a film camera!

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Soooo,

Which company did they match on? I would like to be able to use the same company.

You know, I didn't actually see because he said he needed the printout for his end of the night close so he kept it. I printed out the four lowest plus one from a US distributer just in case, but I gave them the 3 for $549.

Sorry, hope that helps

Good work! I got mine two weeks ago. Total cost for camera plus shipping, handling and tax was $626. I'm happy, and don't care what new c ameras are coming out in September!

Regards, ;)

Other than removing credit card number, what else do you think has been altered?

Come on.

I can tell you exactly what I changed. I removed my name, the acct# and some of the order number. Other than that, nothing. Jared-5 was joking about it being altered. Dry photographer humor. He probably got the same price on the camera, that's why he's on this forum.

I understand though, I didn't believe it until I was in my car! Then once I put the battery in and it had juice, I just had to jump out of the car, put the receipt on the ground and take a picture with the new camera. I thought it fitting, first picture with the new camera!

Good luck finding a sears with one in stock, I had to call about 13 stores before I found one.

Enjoy,
NH
