Sometimes The Best Shots Are Accidental ...

It is a very sweet photo.

Photography for me isn't about capturing what I see, but about capturing what I feel.

When I have posted images from Flickr the images have allways been embedded within the post. This my first try using Picassa and I have simply pasted the image link in my post.

What am I doing wrong ?

First, yes that is a nice photo, and agree that sometimes accidents do make for some good photos.

Second, look at your link to your Google page, it's not a link to a JPG, it's a link to a page so that is why it's not embedded

It is very sweet, hard to tell it was an accident - is there a story there or just happy serendipity?

I have just started trying out Picassa and I can't seem to find any way to find a direct link to the jpg file. When I click "link to this photo" I get the original URL in my post.

Oh well back to Flickr.

I can get a direct link to your image on Picasa's web by right clicking on the picture, then choosing "properties" then selecting and copying the location of the image. I'm using Firefox, but I am pretty sure that IE works the same way. It's always best to use the "preview" button before you post, also. I've saved myself a lot of embarrassment that way.

Very sweet portrait, by the way...

I've increased contrast and brightness but I didn't like the effect more sharpening had on the image. I think I even put the Clarity slider to -20 in ACR when I was processing it to soften the image. I did try making the image much brighter but I found I did not like the brighter image so it is still fairly dark and flat but hopefully better than the original.
