Hi,

after I'm quite familiar with all the features of my LX3, I started to play a little bit with the RAW format. I was really impressed, how much better the same picture can be when taken with RAW instead of JPEG. I used "RAW Photo Processor" to develop the pictures. But I had to realize, that the LX3 does some correction of the lens distortion, when you take JPEG pictures. So I searched for another tool and found PTLens to do the lens correction.

What tools do you use with your LX3? Is there a good tool where you can do the total development of the picture? I also tried Adobe Lightroom, but I couldn't find the possibility to do the lens correction.

Thanks for input.

I read somewhere that Panasonic had Adobe include the lens correction in its Adobe Camera Raw & in Lightroom.

Can someone with more definite knowledge confirm?

For RAW images, I use Silky Pix for an initial tweak. Then I save the file as a 16-bit uncompressed TIF. The TIF's are then processed using Paint Shop Pro X2. Eventually PSP will support the LX3, as it currently supports the LX2 RAW files.

For the JPG Fines I shoot, PSP X2 is used from start to finish. When doing my DVD still and video program, I use Corel (Ulead) Video Studio 11 Plus to arrange the whole package; which also is Vista compatible.

I'm using Lightroom, the Gimp, and I have also done some quick light adjestment with the Faststone Viewer.
