[Samsung Forum] Request - we need one badly! (join)

Phil, it is TIME to create a dedicated forum for Samsung dslr + point & shoot. With the newly announce Samsung NX, there will be an influx of request for more information and discussion.

Agreed, Samsung users (present & future) deserve their own forum.

I agree too but it will never happen. Phil is adamant about not creating a Samsung Forum. There will be no Samsung forum here as long as Phil doesn't have dirt in his eyes and is resting in peace.
 
I respectfully disagree. I don't believe Phils has anything against Samsung. The truth is Samsung has ZERO impact in the point & shoot market place that is dominated by the:
BIG 4 = Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Nikons
Small 5 = Fuji, Olympus, Casio, Pentax, Koda.

But with the release of NX, this is something that is truly interesting and will affect the dslr world. I believe once samsung release the NX, Phil will create a Samsung forum.....or at least I hope so.

I guarantee you that this website will not have a Samsung forum until the day Phil dies. If Phil creates a Samsung forum before he dies, then you know the end of the world is coming soon.

I have said for a while samsung should have their own forum.

Esp if we look around. Pentax forum..they are a tiny player with compacts, Olympus are also a small player. Kodak SLR..is dead. Casio are a small player.

Makes sense to me
 
16 out of 22 live threads here have Samsung (or WBxxx) in subject.
this is actually Samsung forum, no need to create new - just rename this one

Or... he's using statistics to determine if there is demand. In the past, there has not been. I know it looks like it right now with a flurry of announcements, but it needs to keep up.

Last year there was a push for Sigma to be cut into "Sigma SLR" and "Sigma" due to DP1 topics dominating the forum. But it all settles down and equaled out.

Sigma is small, but generates very consistent discussion and interest. Samsung needs to do the same. With that said, yes, I'd like to see a Samsung forum, mostly in part to the NX series now.
 
I was under the impression that the main reason Byung Woo Lee ordered the creation of the NX system was to get Samsung their very own forum at DPR.

I think Phil's waiting to make sure that the press release isn't just a photoshop job before he complies with his side of the bargain.

Samsung can come out with the cure for cancer and Phil still won't create a Samsung Forum.

I get your point, but "curing cancer" while nice, has nothing to do with photography. This is a photography forum, not a science fair or a bio medical forum. If I were Phil, I also wouldn't create a Samsung forum because it help to find a cancer cure. I would, however, create a Samsung NX forum for the numerous of photographer out there looking for an EVIL.
 
My point is that there is ABSOLUTELY nothing Samsung can do for Phil to create a Samsung forum. I was being absurd with the curing cancer example to emphasize my point.

Samsung can come out with a string of near perfect cameras and Phil still would not create a Samsung forum. Even if a BILLION people were interested in Samsung cameras, Phil would not create a Samsung forum.

If you think about it, it is rather really simple to add another forum. Phil just doesn't want to do it. Plain and simple.

I have given up on requesting Samsung forums for I know Phil will go to the grave with this one. You should give up too.
