I did a search on SD Card format on all forums and got a few hits. You could also try Secure Digital.

sandisk sd 128 mb cards for 66.00 shipped @ buy.com & amazon.com
a good search engine is at techbargains site

That's the best I've found so far (sandisk cards at buy.com and amazon)

But at buy.com it ships within 24-48 hours, amazon says 1-2 weeks. Bot qualify for their free shipping. The going price on EBay is about the same, perhaps more depending on shipping.

Thank goodness for those Sandisk cards, everything else is WAY expensive.

We still got a ways to go with price. But lots of new cameras seem to be using SD, that will help.

I just came back from Fry's with a Sandisk Ultra CF card 384 Mb for about $120 !!! It runs fine on my G2, the speed is faster than the card that came bundled with the camera. The min. price on the web for this is > $200.

Where's the catch ? Let me know when you find one !

This media type is way too expensive.. when I checked prices in uk they were about double that fo CF. Also whats secure about it? I think this format is from failed DRM project cooked up by XX and YY. Nice and small tho.

What's it for? It's for camera makers and card makers to get together to ream you on an overpriced format.

I am a happy owner of a Panasonic LC5. Unfortunately it uses SD which makes no sense considering it's not a pocket camera. Well, it does make sense for Panasonic though who apparently developed the format. I assume that gradually SD prices will drop as all card prices do (even memory sticks are now much cheaper!) More cameras seem to now use the SD format, as do many PDA's (including all non-Sony Palms.)

I recently bought a 128 MB from buy.com for $60, which is really not too bad (right around 50 cents per MB.) I used to pay more for CF cards a year or 2 ago, so that gives me hope...

Panasonic standardized on SD memory for a number of reasons. Primarily, it's currently the fastest memory on the market. It is the primary reason we can capture 4 images per second at the cameras highest resolution.

If you read the NY Times you may have seen an article that mentions we recently increased production by 75%. I do know that HP and two other companies will start using SD very soon. Prices in Japan are slightly lower than in the U.S., with 256 Mb cards selling for about $95 as of two weeks ago. I was very surprised to see SD prices (retail) come down to the $60-$70 for 128 Mb from about $145 in just about 30 days. Hang in there and you'll see this trend continue. I also see that Wal-Mart is now carrying SD memory.

How I envy you lot in the States. These prices are half what we have to pay in the UK: we pay about £100 for 128 MB!!!!!
Anyone in UK know where I can get a better dea,l or 256 SD cards?

Sorry to repeat myself- I meant to rename my response as suggested in another thread.
