Printing pics from D1x

Hi all

I know this is a printer issue, but it is from my D1x & I thought I would like to pass on somethhing that has been bugging me for a while now. I have an epson 890 and I have been able to get some excellent results from printing pics taken by my D1x. I did have one small problem that has kept cropping up. When printing some pertraits the skin tones around the hairline and in dark patches under arms etc have been printing with a red cast. It would seem the issue has been due to me sending files from Ps7 to the printer in 16 bit. I have tested 3 images and in 16 bit they do show this red cast which is not visable on the monitor. When reduced to 8 bit hey presto, perfect image. Has anyone else seen this or any outher ideas as to why it happens.

Not sure about 8 bit vs. 16 bit but if you use the Premium Glossy Paper/Semi-Gloss it has a red cast for about a minute after printing. Sorry if this is not the info. you were after!

Yes I see that. Infact it takes a day or so to tone down. I sometimes use a hairdryer to tone reds quickly.
