Hi. i'm enthusiast with my f20.

but in some situation (lowlight) many pics come out moving. blurry

so, i'm thinking about f200exr in order to get image stabilizer, newer processor, big sensor.

if i shot at 6mpixel, will i get better image quality (sharpness, pixel contiguity, "noise abjust") or at least the same, plus more stuck images thanks to image stabilizer? or i will get worst images cause of more pixel density? cause, i thought, shooting at 6mp with f200exr would be the same as shooting with f20...

what do you all think?

thanks...

I've had an F20, F30, and F100.

I know what you mean by the blurry pictures of the F20. It does come from camera shake.

The image stabilization does help reduce blurry pictures. I noticed a definite reduction in the number of blurry pictures using the F100 vs the F20/F30. The Fuji IS system is OK, but definitely not as good as Panasonic's lens based system. Hopefully Fuji has refined their IS in the F200EXR.

The F200EXR has significantly better high ISO images than the F20 and F30. I'd say close to a stop improvement. When the price comes down I plan to get an F200EXR.

By the way the F30 has a small, but noticebly better ISO 400, 800, 1600 output than the F20. There is more mottling and less detail retention in the F20 pics. I directly compared the two.

For me this thread has brought the discussion of the new 200 back to where it should be. I can't believe the infighting and battles going on in the normally half way peaceful Fuji forum (have we become the new Canon forum ?). The many snide and pissy remarks never seem to end. The know it all factor has been turned way up and it is the same old trouble maker or two that is knee deep.

The camera isn't even out yet. Some good shots from Hugo but he is not typical of other shooters in that he often gets good results where others don't. He is good. We have the new dpr samples but I'd like to see 100 more before we all give a thumbs up or down review.

There seems to have been a race to find the first possible flaws and begin the initial tear down of Fuji's latest point and shoot effort. One can almost picture the poster smiling as he/she finds a possible flaw. Yes, I too would love to have seen it more LX3 like with a 2.0 lens BUT if DR has been improved the camera will certainly be worth a look.

Somewhere in the last couple of years Fuji appeared to have lost their way. I owned and got rid of the F100. For me pink banding was VERY real. That said the camera was capable of some nice images. IF the 200 turns out to be merely the F100 with all the bugs worked out along with some slight improvements it will still be a good point and shoot option.

The op noted some blurring that takes place with the F20. I too have noted that before. If the 200 retains what was good with the F20 ( a neat camera ! ) and improves on the bad then Fuji is headed in the right direction.

so you all think that is quite better to wait the effective launch on the market of this camera or focus on a panasonic lx-3? i'm enthusiast with lx-3 and i like a lot its sample pics, both official and unofficial. but fuji f200exr will cost 1/2! ;)

--Hi, I can't wait to see some real results with the 200. I too am very interested. I'd love to replace my Canon SD870 as the flash orbs are enough to drive anyone crazy.. The LX3 is terrific but the 200 will be a true pocket camera and be a nice second carry for the rare zoom shots I want to take.

As you can see on other thread, the high ISO images are the same as F30. With the penalty that you can NOT use manual mode together with high ISO.

I directly compared images taken of the same things with my F20 and F30. The F20 was not quite as good at ISO 800 and 1600 as the F30. It could be a sample variation of my particular F20 or Fuji could have turned down the IQ slightly on the F20.

In any case the F200EXR seems to be a noticeble improvement over both. I'm in a conundrum over which one to get - the Panny LX3 or the F200. They both have their pros and cons. I think the deciding factor will be low light performance:

The bright F2.0 lens and great ISO 400 performance of the Panny vs the significantly better ISO 800 and 1600 performance of the Fuji.

We will see!!
