Hi Mark,
Boy was it hot on that golf course, 602 did better than I hoped
though :-)

Off to find me a cold beer...

Great shots Mark! Im amazed you were allowed to take photos - at the British open you're not allowed to take cameras on to the course. Or are you a pro?

My favourite is the one with Lafeber and his caddy.

Fuji S602, Canon T90, Canon FT, Olympus Trip 35, Lomo, Lomo Action Sampler, Voightlander Brillant, Kodak Bullseye.... do I have too many?

Nice shots. Do they allow anyone to take a camera on the course while the players are playing? You would not be able to get these shots unless you had a press pass to take a camera onto the course. Wish it were different, but if everyone had a camera firing away at will it would be a disaster for the players......robby

Hi Mark
Excellent stuff!
Very clean images, sharp, all the sense of motion and of the event.

There are two particularly strong ones: the last two. The Dutch hope for the terrific composition and the Lee Westwood bunker shot for everything.

Could have come straight out the pages of a sports magazine.

Thanks Robby. No press card, I just become a different person once I'm out photographing. I heard a few "no camera's please" but that was meant for the pro's that were out there, my 602 goes unnoticed, even with B300. And unlike those pro's (dslr's), I make no noise what so ever.

Heheheh, no pro here James...

It isn't allowed here either officially, but if you play your cards well... no golfer ever noticed or heard me.

Of course that doesn't give me a pro position (for the best shots) on the course, but hey, for a simple 602'r I'm happy with these :-)

Wow, thanks Ian, that's the best thing I ever heard someone say about my photo's :-)

I like the composition in that Dutch hope shot too, but as I wrote up in this thread, luck comes into play a lot there, since I do have to keep a low profile at a thing like this.

Thanks for the compliments Ray, was a fun thing to do.

Now that you brought it up: one of my tricks was to hide behind a pro with those huge 1000mm white Canon lenses, and this guy got a few "No camera's pleases" shouted at him, even an official came and wrote down his name. Yes, I did see two very green pro's because of him.

They never even looked at me :-)

Hi Mark,
What's wrong with you golf Photographers?

I was sat in the pub this afternoon with some mates who went to Scotland last weekend. They complained about the wind and rain, you are saying it was hot.But they loved it and I bet you did too.

And I certainly enjoyed your photo's especially the last two, when you post pics Mark I always look at yours first(no offence to anyone else).
I just admire your skill and technique, thank you and keep it up.
Cheers Dave

Gosh Mark, the tension of that picture of ML with his caddy over his shoulder. Talk about being in the right position at the right time! Wow, that photograph fair knocks me out.

Splendid pics Mark!

I guess you know all the "ins and outs" of the 602 by now...

I have a weakness for sport pictures... and you sure know how to take them.
Keep them coming!

All I can do is repeat what the others have said. Wonderful pix. You really captured the moment, movement and all and it all came out so clear.

You dog! ;-) Here in the US, many sporting events, including golf & basketball, ban anything other than little point & shoot cameras from the field. Nice work on your part to get the positioning and angles set up so well.

Oh, I wish I had been to that British Open last weekend! Don't think I would have gotten away with what I did here in Holland though...

Thanks for your kind words.

Thanks a lot Keith.

For that ML shot I had quite a bit of luck, since you have to go with what you get, can't go walk around a green quickly for a better shot.
