Where is the most inexpensive place to buy a Panasonic LX3, preferably in black? Online is best, but stores are fine as well.

Any advice is appreciated, Thank you.

Given the current exchange rate with the US, this website is probably the cheapest and comparable to the US price. You'll get a Cdn warranty too. http://www.cameracanada.com/eNet-cart/prodsearch.asp

Or if you have family who are members of Directbuy, they can probably get it for you for a very reasonable price too. I can't disclose the price but it's the best deal, if you can get it.

--Hi "Golf", Just to let you know that throughout my area ( Mass. and New Hampshire) I have only found the LX3 carried in two walk-in stores. Neither is related to the other, only has the silver but both sell it for $499.

Sometime ago I bought mine online ( Ebay actually ) from 17th St. Photo. I don't know if they still have black in stock. I'm not affiliated with them so I can tell you honestly that the camera was mint and well packed for shipping. I think I used buy-it-now for $425. Since that time it seems the price has crept up a bit.

The good news is it is a very fun camera. Good luck.

Both the black and silver models are still back-ordered at J&R. But you can order one now and they'll ship it when new stock arrives, and they won't charge you credit card until then.

Livesearch is reliable. Just got my $55 electronic transfer to my checking account. One person indicated you get your check in 4-6 weeks. The program indicates a 60 day wait (to avoid the problem inherent in returns) and then about a couple more weeks for the transfer to process. Better count on about 8 weeks but it is still money in the bank. Others results may differ. I understand that it may be faster on EBay sales. Don't know why.

Is livesearch reliable?
If it wasn't, I wouldn't have an LX3...

Got mine, back in October, via Cashback, through EBay/PayPal & even though I had to front $460, after what was then a 30% or $142 CashBack. Several weeks later, my final cost was a little more than $320 & I got an 8gig class 4 SDHC & a few other garbage items thrown in...

Punch in DMC-LX3 into LiveSearch, after signing into cashback & EBay might come up as the CashBack "Sponsored Link" Although I've not read of it appearing in a few weeks but if it shows up @ 25-30%, it'll be worth it through the seller I used, Eshopic, who's been listing them in stock in either color all along, through all the other backordered sellers... Their price is generally steep though, without a significant cashback percentage...

I've since used cashback for several other assorted accessories for my LX too.. AAMOF, just spent the last of that $142 cashback on Ram to max my puter out with.... I'm amazed, the LX3 is the least expensive cam I've ever gotten, thanks to, the unlikeliest of entities, MicroSoft......
