Hey Bugzie,
Great to see you here!
I know, I should be more active in the KM Forum as well!
I haven't posted much this semester, I'm so busy teaching that during my "free" time I only have time to arrange some paid photo work and my creative side is suffering!
Yes, you definitely should play around with some gels, it's a lot of fun and you'll be amazed by the results, placing some color here and there.
You can also use the sb-800s with your KM camera (which one do you have?!)
Use the popup flash of your KM camera (manual power set on minimum, bounce it up with a little card so it doesn't affect the exposure), and the sb-800s in su-4 mode (slave). Set the power manually on the sb-800s. I've done it lots of times!
Here are a couple of examples with my KM-A2
And the setup:
Even the simplest subject on a white sheet of paper or a black cloth will take interesting turns with a couple of gels, one as key, one as kicker!
Paolo
PS: I'll stop by in the KM forum soon!
Hi Paolo! This looks like fun. I have two SB800s and gels! I've been
taking shots in natural light lately... (check out KM forum PAWs)
but, after seeing this, I should have more fun with my gels.
If you post on the good old KM forum, we'll sing your praises more
than here! :-D
These are very effective and wonderfully simple.
