so you are unlikely to see either - if they exist!it means we should get a look at the other mFT

If it means think about the M1, i agree, but complete sentences help.it means we should get a look at the other mFT
if it exists
thats not quite rightso you are unlikely to see either - if they exist!it means we should get a look at the other mFT

That is my prediction too: the E-5x0 series has apparently been easily the best selling of 4/3 models, well ahead of even the less expensive E-4x0 models, and so distinctly more profitable. But sales have been sliding lately, probably due to the MP lag. So a 12MP E-520 is probably the first priority for Olympus 4/3 right now.EX30 would be my guess, and the X will be a 5, and it will have a 12mp sensor and the new engine but retain the 5xx body/viewfinder and non articulating screen ie updated 520
not sure why that statement makes mine 'not quite correct' at all. If anything it supports it exactly!thats not quite rightso you are unlikely to see either - if they exist!it means we should get a look at the other mFT

no announcements, maybe a concept model under glass

oh here we go, the concept may differ from the actual, well thats no surprise, but the essence of a concept usually holds true. The camera resulting is not all that different. That equates to a "look see"I concluded that you were unlikely to see either ie the actual m43
bodies, and you quote the suggestion that we may see a(nother concept
model under glass
That sounds interesting, and it fits with the comments about the E-30 becoming a 'tweener despite its high price. If this happens, I think it's likely that the E-420 and E-520 will remain in the line-up as budget options until the fall, when they are replaced by the m4/3 offering(s). This means 4/3 would gradually shift to the higher end, where good optical viewfinders and low response times are considered to be important, and m4/3 could take over the low end and the ultra-compact market.that at the end of February Oly will anounce new body between E520
and E30, with 7 AF points. Thts all.

It isn't necessarily. If anything of the last years is anything to go by:
True speculation (I think). Micro 4/3rds is too important now and the E-420 is invading their turf. I don't think we'll see an E-430. They'll keep the E-5x0 line however. Sales have been too good.A revamped e-4xx. I know some say that that line is dead but
honestly, it's all speculation,
That's admirablyso I am going to keep the e-4xx torch lit.
I don't think we'll see a E-530 this year. The 520 will remain a bit longer. I think a new Olympus DSLR will emerge. A new 'tweener' between the E-520 and the E-30. This should help silence the 4/3rds naysayers that the system is dead (for a bit longer). If I'm right that will make 2009:The e-410 and e-420 were both announced around or right after
PMA so I am expecting the same thing. And e-5xx will be announced
later probably.
They just might. If they do, you're going to love it!Now here's where I wonder- if Olympus is doing a u4/3rds like the
mockup concept we are seeing then I don't see the 4/3rds line
affected (yet). But if they have a surprise more "pro" model,
Yep.then I
can see Olympus considering consolidating the e-4xx and e-5xx line
E-420. Maybe they'll continue to make it for a bit or just run down the stock until it's gone.or eliminating one
I'm not sure what you mean here. Setaside2 predicted the pancake months before it came out and many (I don't know who was the first) were talking about the 'tweener (E-30)' a long, long time before it arrived or was even announced.or the other to make way for that u4/3rds model.
The E-5 if anything will be shown as mockup and I bet it won't. One
pattern Olympus has adopted more than ever in the last 2 years is of
surprise products. Nobody saw the pancake coming, same with the E-30.
A good guess I would say. I think it may arrive in the last quarter of 2009 even. Why waste the holiday shopping season if they can finish it in time.I think they may say something by year's end with possible release
2010 (for E-5). This is all my guess.
Sounds right.The E-5 may have 12-14
megapixels (again my guess).
I don't know about this but maybe.I think it's possible the new super
panasonic DR sensor shows up finally.
I think the E-5 will be priced about the same as the E-3 was on its' release (approx $1699). This will separate it from the E-30 again. If it is higher, I think it will be minimal. I wouldn't think that Oly wants to bring it too close to FF models and would like to keep it below the D-400 price. If that happens, it's possible
it may have only 10-12 megapixels as that feature alone will be a
noticeable one and may be harder to do with a more dense megapixel
count.
And yeah the E-5 will cost a billion dollars. I expect something
similar to the E-3. If it has the new high dynamic range sensor,
maybe add $500 more.
