It amazes me that I've waited so long to do this. If you have time to look over my photos at http://www.akcreative.com I'd appreciate your feedback.

Very nice thank's for posting you'r pictures.

Some very nice pictures, beautiful colors and composition. I love
the landcapes with the layers of gray going into the dstance.
On the web site you could use larger thumbnails. On my monitor at
1280 x 1024, the thumbnails are only tiny squares of color - you
don't have too much idea of what the picture might be. Not sure if
you plan to use you site for promoting you material commerically,
but if you do you probably want a more conspicuous link for someone
to contact you.
But again, beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing,
Richard.

Hi Aydelette,Criticism? Advice?
Hi Aydelette,Criticism? Advice?
I think your pictures are very good and the presentation is also
okay. Did you make the internet-site by yourself or is that a
"ready-program"? What camera do you use and are you in
travelling-business?
Thanks.
Otto
Hiya,
I like the site. I really love the photo of the green leaf.
good luck

Hi Aydelette,
First I wish to give you a compliment on the concept and layout of
your website, very nice and tastefull, great. Did you make it
yourself ?
Also loved the quality of the pictures, especially the landscapes,
wish that there were more and also loved the shots of the grean
leaves, very nice. I loved also to see these strange and colorfull
animals and plants that I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing
and I hope to see more soon.
With very kind regards,
Dirk

First off, don't be discouraged by the lack of feedback. You've
come onto the forum at a time when things are generally slower in
most online forums anyway (the middle of the summer), and things
are especially slow here because of a transition involving a number
of regular contributors. I myself used to contribute and comment
quite often, but have had to spend much more time involved with
work and other obligations, and have tended to spend more time at a
specialty site for owners of the film camera I use currently (a
Contax G2).
I personally enjoyed your gallery design quite a bit, even though
the thumbnails were on the smallish side. A broad observation that
could be considered a criticism is that the variety of subjects is
pretty wide, and this it becomes difficult for the average viewer
to get a read on what they might encounter as they navigate through
the gallery and the tiny thumbnails. But for my interests in
photography, which range widely, your format is pleasing because it
introduces the element of surprise with each new image, and there
is enough in common between most of the images (a strong sense of
color, open-ended compositions, creative use of depth-of-field, and
a general sense of abstraction) that the journey doesn't feel
disjointed if one is sufficiently open-minded.
With that said, I might try to group the images loosely into some
themes, while still trying to be creative (i.e. avoiding obvious
categories like people, landscapes, etc)...but that really depends
on the type of person you are. I've seen galleries work with very
rigid classifications, and others work as one big stream of
consciousness. The important thing is that the gallery communicate
your vision, and that it should somehow convey the feeling that the
process of exploration is ongoing. While I do feel that some of
the images could be grouped differerently or even omitted, overall
the sense of exploration and color is one of the most attractive
features of your site.
(Just so you don't think I'm simply spouting psychobabble, let me
be concrete about a few of your images. The close-ups of the green
leaves, which could have been the most mundane images, are the most
outstanding in my eyes...the transition between very sharp and very
soft areas is managed extremely well. The bird shots, on the other
hand, might need to be pruned or presented differently...the
selection of images overall seems reasonably random in presentation
early in your gallery, and then a whole sequence of bird shots
follows to bring down the flow somewhat)
A couple of examples of galleries that I think work well, not so
much on the basis of outstanding web site design (though they're
very good), but more by the principles of vision and presentation,
are as follows...you may have commented on one of them recently:
http://www.antonionunes.com
http://www.blackmallard.com/cal_ls/
You've also seen Dirk's galleries, which are very creative. There
are many other talented folks with fine work, but this is just what
comes to mind now.
Of course, I run off at the mouth, but I myself don't have any
semblance of a gallery or even a semi-coherent attempt at image
presentation.I have images scattered around pbase,
imagestation, a Contax G film camera enthusiast's site, and a small
home page with Apple. Your example, and others, inspires me to
give this a try, but as I'm not someone with any web design skills,
I may fumble around in a fragmented way a bit longer. I shoot both
digital (Fuji S1) and film (Contax G2), and honestly, the film
images at the following URL:
http://www.contaxg.com/user.php?id=1288&showImage=1#Image
are probably most representative of my recent work, though I'm a
notorious genre hopper. I also have images below, but they're old
and scattered.
