One cold morning

Really cool tracks!! I'd love to see it composed a bit differently to highlight them more. I feel pulled between looking at the "view" (which is a ok view, but not spectacular) or looking at the snow covered tracks. I'd rather be fascinated (perhaps in context to their surroundings) with the tracks and not distracted by the rest.

Photography for me isn't about capturing what I see, but about capturing what I feel.

Thank you Mirza and Sue for your insightful comments. Your feedback is appreciated.

You've given me some good points to think about during my next outing.

Looking at it now I'm thinking the composition isn't great and I think I tried to get too much into the image leaving the eye with no where to rest.

Not to worry though, I don't mind going back and trying again.

Regards,
Paul

I like your shot Paul,it really shows wilderness and makes the viewer feel like they're in the middle of nowhere. I do agree with Sue's comments, but it's still a good shot. Rob:-)

Paul,

You might consider cropping the picture into portrait with the tracks going from the lower left to the upper right. That way you have the interesting tracks and the wonderful light from the trees, without the eye being drawn into the valley.

Just a thought.

Thank you Rob, Morris and Ken
I appreciate your encouragement.

I'll be back in the area to take another shot soon but in the mean time I tried a different crop.

Paul
