Re: Tiny digital cameras head to head

I think that picture on the front page is misleading...it makes the
sony look huge compared to the casio...if you look at the side bu
side shots you'll see the difference
If you mean the picture on Yamada Kumio's page, note that he goes on to say that the Sony DSC-U10 occupies nearly twice the volume of the Casio Exilim, based on the dimensions given in the specs. But after that he says that the Sony looks smaller at first glance, but the thinness of the Exilim then attracts....

I feel a need to go into Tokyo to have a look for myself. (I've played with the Exilim before, but found it too thin for my mental comfort--I kept thinking I'd snap it in half, or something. OK, so I know I'm clumsy.)
Thanks. Useful stuff.

Hi,

The pics are certainly not bad for such small cameras with a fixed (plastic?) lens. Great for web/mail applications.

I tried to play the movie, but my Media Player just displays a green screen (no video). Does the camera use a special codec or something? I have installed both an mjpeg- and DivX-codec. My MP plays movies from my camera (Canon G1) just fine.

Cool pictures of sports cars, taken with a G1.
I posted up some pics of just the exilim if anyone is interested:
