What shutter speed?

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: I don't think they wanted me to say anything. It was just their way of having a bit of fun, the swines. Strange thing is they make such bloody good cameras.

  1. 2 is something i'd put on my wall if I'd taken it .... really cool. :)

The mangroves were as close as three feet as we flew through the forest on the airboat.

The boat was "zooming" enough! I was thinking about shutter speeds, not focal lengths. I shot many images at speeds from 1/5 to about 1/50 second. I wonder what the results would be if I zoom in (or out?) while moving forward? Would they cancel each other out and give me a critically sharp photo? 8-)

Very cool photo, first off.

I've tried the hand-held zoom-warp thing before with limited success. Here's one I did in the walnut groves where some of the chase scenes from "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" were shot. I should have pulled out my tripod.

What he got was indicative of his true motion and not a zooming simulation of motion, so it was a lot hipper than the old zoom trick, IMO.

What ever you were taking when you took that second shot, can I have some of that?

Very very cool!

Thanks for posting.

Photo #2 is what happens when I put a UDMA CF card in my old E-1. All the photos look this way. Guess I've gotta get an E-30.
