Hi,

I want to upload some images to a website, but don't want to have to resize each one individually.

Anybody know of some good (free) tool that can do this?

I have photoshop 7 also but I can't afford to lay out for more commercial stuff right now so if it can be done in here somehow that would be great (but I can't for the life of me see how).

I've also seen this one here

Anybody use it? Does it do its job reliably?

Cheers!

Hi Mr. Wilby

EZ thumbnails (free) for batch resizing. Choose Lanczos interpolation, sharpness about 15 and keep your jpeg compression over 86 and the results will be excellent. This is a really terrific little program.

Also, http://www.irfanview.com . Use the 'resample' routine for best results.

Free, excellent software.

Hi Darren

Good question! I don't know, but the first time I came across it was here in this explanation of jpeg quality
http://www.mediachance.com/digicam/jpgq.htm
All I know is, it's about right.

I don't know about Photoshop as the scale is out of 12, but you can test it with the tool at the link above. Photobrush has an enhancement tool and gives the best results/files size in my opinion.
All the best
Ian
Ian (or anyone else),

Where did the magic number 86 come from? Is this universally
applied, such as with Photoshop?

PhotoThumb will automatically create thumbnails, medium-sized images (suitable for web use) and web pages. Very flexible, fast and easy to use.

PhotoThumb also includes many other useful tools.

You can download a free trial at http://photothumb.com/
