Hi all,
I'd like to bring this on to see if you guys having the same prob as I do.

Focus correction (FC) on FA 50 1.4

For tungsten light I leave the fc value to 0. It focuses well all the time all the same.

But when it comes to daylight, I set it to +20 according to the focus chart. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Then I need to change this value to +100 or +140. It's weird.
I always leave the aperture to 1.4 for precision.

So do you guys having this problem too?

... about 10% of owners threw in the towel and changed brands. Those who couldn't afford to change brands (or didn't want to spend the money on a whole new system) bought the K20D.

or they sent it to Pentax under warranty and never had the same problem again.

Yes my k10d has very different degree of focus error with the FA50 f/1.4 depending on whether it's in daylight or tungsten. I have a setting that suits my other lenses (DFA100, F28) and works with the FA50 in daylight. For wide-aperture portraits under tungsten light, I just focus about halfway between the eye and the ear, and then the eye is in focus. Works well fo people who have spectacles on, because for them you can't usually give the AF sensor (which is larger than you think) a clear shot at their eyeball.

Count me in as one who's throwing in the towel.

I was going to get the K20d but when I researched it and found out that the D90 has faster and more accurate AF and even better high ISO than the K20d, I decided to jump ship.

The K10d was (overall) very good to me though. I've gotten so many gorgeous pics... and with it being my first dSLR, I will be sad to see it go.
