Hi!

I'm writig to all of you guys in the name of many hungarian photo enthusiasts who have ordered some digicams, objectives and other accesories in a hungarian Ebay-like website from a seller living the US.

Her name is Eva Blanar living in Tampa, FL (6302.N.17th str. Tampa, Florida) selling goods to hungarians who want to save some bucks (electronics is quite expensive here in Europe, especially in Hungary). She had several hundreds of transactions already, that is why we all had trust in her.

We all paid to her in advance using PayPal or bank transfer, but we receive the goods after 2-3 Months waiting time. And we suffer of course a lot...Since several days she doesn't answer prompt enough to our e-mails - only after 5-6 days - and she often lies about delivery times (she claims a package to be sent and it never arrives, etc.) So we are worried, that she never will send the items.

I thought, maybe one of u will be so kind to check, wether the address exists in Tampa, FL. If on top of that you also drive to there to see the house - pls take a photo too - and the lady, than very many hungarian friends would be just very thankful.

I know, that this is a weird favour and probably no one will do it jut because I write it down here, but I do not have a better idea for now and I beleive in miracles.

So please, someone out there help to the suffering Hungarians!

If you done it I send you a good Tokaji (the best wine of the world - Vinum Regnum, Rex Vinorum!) and I invite you for a Hungarian dinner too, here in Hungary!

PS: pls, do not post good advices how to trade on Internet, we all know that;-))

Go to google map and type in the address then you will see the picture of the house.

but it says "address is approximate", so I don't know if that is the right house or not. I was able to move the little man with my mouse, but can't find much else - I got the cross street when I typed in the adress, then moved the little man up and down N. 17th Street until I found the 6300 block.

I also googled "eva blanar" (in quotes) +tampa and got this post and 2 other foreign site hits. Then I typed in just "eva blanar" in quotes and got this Hungarian translator page with a photo, don't know if she's involved or not.

The whole thing sounds fishy to me. I used to buy a lot on ebay but don't any more. It was a good suggestion to contact the Tampa authorities or the United States Postal Service (USPS) - http://www.usps.com - you may be able to write them an email on their website under contact info, you have to hunt for that. They actually answered one of mine once about something different. If there is something underhanded going on, it is mail fraud among other possibilities.

Would we together achieve more success?
Please write me if you have any idea.

It is at least a little bit odd that the owners do not claim the property as their homestead. In Florida, homestead is where you live, in simple terms.

They could be snow-birds in that they only live here 3 maybe 4 months of the year .. who knows. At any rate, the poster's question relative to the validity of the address has been answered, and now they know the exact location of the house.

According to the tax appraiser records the house was build in 2007

That can also mean that they are flippers and in foreclosure (can not pay the mortgage) and the bank owns the property

which might also explains the NO homestead exemption

and also the scamming on ebay.

just a possibility.. and hope it's not true.

I would report fraud to ebay

They did not pay their property taxes FOR 2007 & 2008

so they don't live there and the bank owns the properfy

This is copied from the public tax records on their address

Did you got the goods or not?

Hi!

I bought my equipment from Eva (you see all of it below, in my signature, except for the helios lens), and of course she lied several times about postage and such, but got the kit after a month and another month later got everything as one of my friends who ordered a similar equipment. I got it for 65% of the hungarian price, and a bit below amazon.com price, so I'm happy. I know I can forget warranty, but I hope I won't need it. I wish luck to you getting what you paid for!

Hello, I just let you know guys I am not a scam! I am a real person who leave on the address above. I am not on foreclosure or anything like this. I am own the house but I am not eligible for homestead. I had some issue with the house because I had a fire last year dec. 25 and I had to hire a lawyer (Morgan&Morgan) because the insurance company not respond after I submit a claim with them. This cause some trouble with my business so I am slowing down a little but my customers always get the merchandise and they were 100% statisfied with their purchase. I am not a seller on ebay to sell goods it is a foreign site to sell. Babarczi received the merchandise from me a week ago and I notify him please respond on this site to tell you he received what he paid for. If you have any more questions or concern I ll be more than happy to assist you. Please leave me a message at [email protected]

I regret for having jumped in here since I have no way of knowing who is telling the truth. I noted after my post that two posters evidently just signed up to use this forum on depreview as a venue to air their purported complaint.

Now the seller signs on just minutes ago, assuming the person is for real and who he/she purports to be, I haven't checked my threads for a couple of days, here it is, and it just has gotten more confusing.

But the OP and other poster appeared to have cut and run.

If you are a honest person, I apologize for feeding into this dispute and going beyond what I usually do and may have invaded your privacy even though I don't believe I did anything illegal or necessarily unethical. It's good to know people can check out public records. Aside from that, the whole thing is just odd and if you who are who you say you are and an honest seller, I apologize.

Still I can't help wondering where whomever is getting all this camera equipment to sell to foreign buyers at such bargain prices.

Hi,

Last week I received a package sent via DHL containing the major part of the things I paid for. I'm still waiting for some accesories, but the main units are with me :-))

I hope I can report the receipt of the missing items (cards and a flashgun) in a few days too

Thanks for your help guys!

It means in hungarian, that you are pleased with the goods, and have marked the transaction positive :

--Hi All,

I wrote several days before that Eva did not sent me the ordered gadgets. Yesterday I've got an excellent EF 300 4L IS USM lens. I think Eva really try to solve problems around her. I am waiting for 5DMK2 body and rest things. I wish it will be on my hand same as the lens.
