Did not try servo, as I didn't want to embarrass myself with fuzzy photos when the stakes were high. I used mainly the center AF point, and tried the outer points only for a few frames and its seemed to work ok. Still, I don't trust the outer points anymore, so it's the center point or manual focus from here on.

Haven't tried AI Servo in the studio yet but the tests I've done outside seem pretty good. Inside the studio I've had good results with the perimeter focus points but I unfortunately must agree - when the pressure is on, center pt only. Don't know about you Ron but it's one of the only things I find lacking in the new m2. The camera wouldve been over the top if it had a new and improved AF system. (something more then the current but less then a 1 series) Or better still, make the current system spot on regardless of AF point or mode you select. (sorry for the ramblings but I do love the camera)
Regarding your comments about AF, I am quite the opposite to your shooting style. I seldom use the center AF point and I think I probably just use it 10% or maybe even 5% of the time. 90-95% I use the outer AF points.
I am close to 4000 actuations with my 5DMKII and I tried it in various lighting conditions including low light, some AI Servo with model coming right at me and etc. It focuses really well. If there is one weakness in the AF is when the model is extremely backlit by the sun. Here the lens hunts and I had no choice but to resort to shooting MF.
Beautiful model....and the photo's arent bad either. ;-) Ron what ISO are you shooting and I'm curious if youv'e actually tried printing any 5DII output to 16X20 or larger? Comments?
