Safe flash trigger voltage for Sony A300?

Does anyone know what the highest flash trigger voltage is for the A300 that's safe?

My father has a 7-8 year-old Minolta-dedicated Sunpak flash that he has used a lot on his Minolta film SLR, but would need to know if it is safe to use on a Sony A300.

I have a Metz 58 for my α700 and I’ve measured 4.7 V on the triggering pins. So I guess that any voltage near this value would be fine.

With both the KM7D and the A700 - it's 400V, but I do not have the info for the A300.

Where did you get this info will the A700 handle that many volts? I ask because I want to use my Vivitar 285HV on it. Thanks in advance
