Why didn't you say so right off? I always jump on everything that's free (except, perhaps, an enema in a Polish water spa - not that I've been offered one)

So. I appointed a committee of my family, which includes a budding photographer, and here are the results of this discerning committee:

The Challenge:
1. Snowfalls (I know Don Allison loves these too)
2. When dreams come true
3. Architecture beyond 100 mm

Honourable mention:
My Alfa (tack sharp)
My puppy (cute little bugger and well taken photo)
The voice (good idea and happens to be my favourite too)

If I hadn't been so darned busy, this is quite close to what I was going to do, so of course I like it!
2nd. (3 points) Happy hour

Another one that's a little similar to what I might have done if I weren't working non-stop.
3rd. (1 point) Snowfalls

Just because it's lovely, and I like snow, too. Gee I wish I had time to get out there and enjoy the snow we've got...

Exhibition Challenge

I think I voted for this some time ago, and I still like it, particularly the anachronistic Mac sitting on the old table.
2nd. (3 points) Drinking coffee with her
Very sweet, without being sappy. I like the coffee mugs!
3rd. (1 point) whiskers on kittens

Because (a) it's a line from the song, (b) I like cats and (c) it's a wonderful picture - exudes cosiness and it's a nice b&w conversion.

A wide variety of interests in this group. I'm looking forward to participating again, beyond merely voting. As you may have gathered from my whiny comments above, I've been working long hours, on computer, so any downtime is spent doing things totally unrelated to computers. Hence not much photography, as I don't want to spend any time PPing, or even downloading photos, really! At least I can take a little break and enjoy everybody else's take on the theme.

With topics like this, I always struggle with how important interpretation of the subject is. Do I accept all images that somehow fit the subject, and then pick the best - or do I give preference for those where I think they somehow 'embody' the subject, where ideally you might be able to guess the subject from the image?

I tend to follow the stricter interpretation of the subject, and so voted for images that really say to me 'this is something I like'.

HM to snowfalls, which is the most beautiful image but isn't (in my view) really a favourite thing, and Build it Trash it, which could have been 3rd as well.
